Oil change: I did some searching and found a nice larger replacement filter. I checked a few different ones before picking one.

The one on the left is Purolator Boss. The one on the right is Mobile 1

I went with the Mobile 1

You can see it is much larger than the one from 5minuteOilChange.
I also went with Valvoline 20w-50 vr1 racing oil. It was the highest zinc content I could find.

Just a report on the "heavier" oil that I used. I went with 20w-50 high zinc. was worried that the thicker oil would not flow through the motor and get into all the places it need to get, but I haven't noticed any negatives yet. It actually seems to run smoother and no "start-up rattle" anymore. which tells me (A) I had a filter with no backflow valve and (B) oil is staying in the block. Which is a good thing because I only drive it on the weekends, doing odd jobs, hauling off yard debris and pulling a trailer with my mowers and equipment

A buddy just got a 97, that he's going to race on a dirt track. He's letting me strip any and everything I want for free. This is the first round. I went for the window regulators and got a lot more.

Ever since I've had this truck, the window cranks have been an issue. They were cheap plastic ones held in place with home made Carter pins. Someone used anti-seize as lubricant and that gunked up the cable guide, which caused more resistance at the window crank and the cheap plastic ones were I useless. Vice grips have been serving as cranks for the past year or more. Well, the Nissan gods have smiled upon me and I have received the stuff I needed for this. Here is a shot of the teeth on the regulator.

The new teeth

The OE gray crank. I added some black felt tape to the hanlde so the Florida heat doesn't scorch my hands. We'll see how that works out.

I also swapped out the front window track . One thing I noticed was the passenger side regulators were different. The one out of the 97 was just a mirror image of the driver side. But the one out of my 87 was totally different

The one on the right is out if my 87. More if a "7" shape where the 97 is like a"D" shape.

While I was doing "window stuff", I was able to swap out the weather molding.
Here's a side by side of the old and new molding

The 97 had tinted windows, so I swapped those too.

I was going to do the LED Tail light conversion with the new tail light housings. Opened the box with the housings and BAM!!!!, a jewel was missing from one of the assemblies. Top driver's side was missing. BUMMER. Now I have to return those and wait for new ones to be shipped.
