Default Using a 240sx cat delete on my 1997 pickup

Hey everyone, Iím new to the truck world and I was wondering if I could use the cat delete designed for a 1997 240sx? Would it be the same length and bolt on? My cat is pretty much shot and my state does not have emissions. Here is a link to the part:

Thank you for your help.

Welcome...

I can't speak to this, but I would suspect that any change in back pressure could have affects on how the engine runs. Hope that others can assist you and speak to your situation. GL...

Probably at least as bad as a Jeep so worse than a cow.

You may have trouble online finding people to help with a cat delete on a road vehicle because even if your state, like mine, does not do emissions testing in your area a cat is still a federally required device.

I would not guarantee anything for the car will bolt in.

I understand, thank you guys for trying to help. I think I’ll just get a universal cat and use clamps after cutting the bad one off. The bolts are rusted and 2 already broke off the threads. I’m not sure how much shops charge to weld around me (orlando,fl).

In regards to a universal cat. I think the exhaust diameter for my truck is 2”. Would I buy a 2” cat or 2.5” so it slides over the existing pipe and then clamp it down? Sorry, this is my first time messing around with exhaust.

I'd just get one that is the same diameter and either use a sleeve type clamp or have it welded. The cat will be the expensive part. It's only a few minutes to do the weld.

I'm with you though. Boo on cats. Pretty sure the ones in my car are punched out.

Rockauto sold direct-fit cats -- Walker brand I think. Be sure to get the needed gaskets, mounts, etc. too.

It won't affect performance, you will just make loud pops occasionally.
