It is time to put this winch thing to bed. Just pay for the best one that you can afford. Then tell all your friends "I put an expensive winch on the front of my ol' Hardbody," and be done with it.

HF often puts their 12K on sale for $299. It has a Ramsey-style cable release, which I think would work well with that bumper. 8K is good, but 12k is better, and usually around the same price.
I'm not trying to talk you out of a big name brand. Those are often faster at the same pull ratings as the cheaper brands.

If it will live inside of a bumper, you lose all of your prestige points anyway. LOL

Yeah I think I'm settled on the Badlands 9k winch from Harbor Freight, Got a snatch block, a remote control, tree saver strap, and a steel forged hook. All from Badlands as well.

And like that, it neatly takes up my whole stimulus. I'll update when I get everything installed.

Well quick update for those wanting an ARB bumper for your Hardbody, out of stock nationwide and no ETA on anymore coming in (not holding my breath). Not surprising given the age, but disappointing.

Can't fab for shit, anyone recommend a good fab shop around western WA?

Get some metal and we can build one over a couple of Saturdays.

I have spent about half my stimulus, but it went to other things.
Truck is good enough for now. See you in July, if you're lucky.
