Fuel gauge - Infamous Nissan

This morning my fuel gauge stopped working. Hanging down lower than I have ever seen it. The temp gauge still works. I’ve done some looking on what it could be but I’m pulling the bed soon and wonder if you all think it would be a good idea to just replace the pump, sending unit and what the hell replace the tank too. I would think after 27 years it might not be a bad idea.
What do you think?

The hard part is finding a new sending unit. When I replaced the one in my son’s 95 V6 I had to use one for a 96-97 4cyl.

just an update.
my fuel gauge starting working ( Sorta) It registered a little over a 1/4 and stayed that way for about 50 miles than sat at empty. I got a bank loan to fill up the tank and it took a little over 8 gal so I had almost 8 gal left. it never did show as full on the gauge. It showed just above 3/4.
I did find a pump and sending unit made by Herko that says it fits my 95 KC 4 cyl Anybody heard of Herko https://herko.com/productinfo.php?inv=2398 ?

Although I've not done similar on a Nissan truck, on my '88 Mazda truck I tilted the truck bed for access.

Ever get a fix for this? Mine did the same thing but I am running a fuel
Cell with a aftermarket fuel sender. Replaced the entire fuel cell with a new sender with it still not working, I also swapped Ina new gauge cluster and it did not fix it.

Anyone ever find a fix with a common place it failed between the sender and gauge? Am I missing something that would fail somewhere in the circuit?
