Good evening everyone. I have been wanting to make my KA24E hardbody sound better and have been going in circles researching what muffler to get. I'm not looking to do any major modifications, just basically wanting to drop my truck off at a muffler shop, toss them a couple hundred bucks and have them slap on a muffler. I'd like it to sound as deep and bassy as possible, easy on the drone, and nothing "ricey" or fart-can sounding. Ideally it would be a model that most shops would have in stock, so that I can get it and get out without a special order.. Any recommendations?

I ordered a stainless steel muffler with rear pipe, all the way back, about $120 shipped, just Google it. Aluminized steel a little cheaper. Stock, fit the existing hangers, quiet, a little too quiet actually. Two bolts at flange, one bolt to hanger. EZPZ, just Google "1995 nissan d21stainless steel exhaust" If you have minimum skills, jack, wrenches you could probably install it in less time than you would spend at a muffler shop waiting area.

WEB the local exhaust shops and call around. Ask them your questions. Be specific. Get a price.
OH, they may want to see the truck...... your call, how close? If you can "read people", you'll know which one you can "rely on". May also want to check the local BBB and any reviews you can find online. |

The "cat-back" mufflers, via RockAuto, are good deals. I went with the Walker, and it is very stock-sounding. Go for the stainless steel version, and remember to buy the gaskets, etc. too.

On my former 93, I replaced the cat ( original one fell apart and all the pieces were in the muffler), I used a Borla Pro XS muffler, I always use Borla as I like them and they are Stainless, and I found a Dynomax mandrel bent tailpipe, it sounded better than stock but it was no where near loud. I also used the band type clamps, no leaks.
couple of pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() only thing I didn't like about the tailpipe was it had an oblong tip, I could have cut it off and put a tip on it but the one I wanted was expensive (Borla intercooled tip, had one on my former 87 Hardbody): ![]() Crappy video, cell phone laying on the ground: https://youtu.be/amY0bQed_Fc
