When I started this, the frame was powder coated a nice dark grey. So I was gonna paint the parts hanging on the frame a nice Smoke grey with rattle cans. Then things took a change when I got screwed on the powder coat job, Decided I was gonna make the frame silver like I wanted in the first place. Since I was making the bottom of bed and cab black, I thought this would look really good. Engine is gonna be a little darker silver(easier to find leaks) with Purple and drak grey accents. Some assembly done. Really thinking about having all the hardware cleaned and zinc coated. I tried light coats of primer and paint but to only chip when tools were applied to each bolt or nut.

Cant find anyone to zinc coat all my hardware. So all the fasteners are getting cleaned and installed. So tired of meeting road blocks at every turn.

They make galvanize spray. Welders use that to recoat parts after welding them.

Getting frustrated is part of the job. Stay focused on the endgame. It wasn’t too long ago i was kicking myself around over my then in pieces pathfinder.

Tried that first. It chipped just like the paint did.

Not much to report. Got a Christmas bonus from the car auction company I work for part time. It was double last year. Told the wife Im gonna order parts wether she liked it or not. I got the same bullshit response I always do. Told her I dont give a shit, Im buying the parts. $244 later, heres what I got. The plastic clips are for the brake lines and fuel lines. Since I was able to get a new OEM grille, figured I better get new corners. Now I can sell the nice used ones I have on hand to help cover part of the costs.
