I proudly work on the very same assembly line our beloved D21s were assembled on all those years ago. I was curious if any other of my Smyrna,TN brethren are on this site?

Hey Jay... thanks for this.
Got access to anything "from the peroid"... looking for more of the FSMs. What's currently available is quite limited. We do have another Nissan mgr onboard. IC you found him: http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/...5&postcount=22

Used to work in Paint 1 in Canton when the new Titan was released. A former member here, Mytmouz, used to work in Trim as maintenance. Im glad I got to meet him before he passed. He was a good guy. Very talented with vehicles.
Honestly, Im so glad I dont work there anymore. Wasnt worth my sanity. The hours were stupid.

Friend of mine works up there. He's either retiring soon or already has, I haven't talked to him since a little before I got sick. You know Ty Duncan?

Our best bet would be a tech at a dealership, they would have a lot more luck coming across something like that. Quote:
Doesn't ring a bell but we have 8k people working there so it's not unusual for me to never have met him. Is he in trim or paint? |

When I was there we worked 7 days a week with 1 day off a month until my last couple months where we did 12s on weekends and got every other weekend off. The pay was decent. More than I make now as an engineer. I was maint in Canton. The hours made it impossible to have a life outside work. Impossible to basically do anything outside work let alone just go grocery shopping. The supervisors always complained that we didn't put in enough time when most of us averaged 12-14hrs a day anyways. My boss had the audacity to tell me he would see me at regular starting time when he left early knowing full well I'd be there for almost 24hrs that day. I told him he will see me when I wake up. The HR department I worked with should be fired. Completely incompetent and completely oblivious of anything going on in the plant. The head of maint for the plant was just as useless. He came in for some Xmas thing when we worked Xmas. Made a huge deal about how he was sleeping in his office and all that. When it came to time to do the Xmas shindig the next guy down from him did everything while he sat playing games on his phone the entire time and ignored everyone.
My last boss (had 3 in less than a year) was good but very green. Was starting to be a good boss by the time I left. His boss was useless. The production supervisor I worked with was awesome. I took about a $10/hr pay cut and I am way happier. Quality of life has dramatically improved. Most of the folks I respected on my shift are no longer there.

Maintenance is all you had to say. As you could assume not much has changed for their hours, those guys are always there. I feel like unless you like being a bachelor you need not apply. I consider applying as I have some previous mechanical background but I know I'd never see my girls and I can't do that to them.
Glad you were able to find something better for you mental health, that's most important. How do you like Oregon vs Mississippi? |

I'm originally from OR. No comparison. MS is flat, hot, humid and wet. I grew up with feet of snow, so little humidity uncoated steel doesn't rust outside and mountains all around. To visit my parents I have to climb a 6000ft elevation pass and they live over 4000ft. I miss the high desert. Can't afford to live there. The biggest difference was the lack of public lands. Where I grew up I could go down the driveway and hit thousands of acres of open public lands to basically do what I want. Where I am now that's about a half hour drive.
On the other side of things, MS has their shit together for laws. OR is a disaster.

He is/was one of the higher ups over there. I've never asked what his exact title is.

Oh ok, it probably depends on the day you ask him. The big guys change job titles quite often as they don't want anyone getting complacent. I'll definitely be on the lookout for his name. Even though we work with so many people if they aren't in your "zone" then we hardly ever see other people. Everyone makes a bee-line in and out when the plant is 6 million sq ft.
