Max tire size stock suspension

hey all, new here. i just picked up a nice '95 hardbody. its just a regular cab, 4 banger, 5 speed, 4x4.

tires are bald. its going to be a daily driver/slight mudding truck. planning on a 2 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift. but thats not happening for a while. so i wanted to get some tires now that wont look too small when i lift it. will 33's fit stock ride height? if not maybe 32's?

I think you would be best sticking to 31's on stock suspension, maybe 32's. 33's will rub for sure or not fit at all.

I actually fit 31's on my truck as low as it is right now. I didn't drive it though I just checked to see what the wheels looked like on there. it looked hilarious tucking 31's I might have pics on my old iphone. I'll look when I get home.

my 235 75 r 15 on a stock chrome pathy rim do not hit at all but they are about 30 inches tall..

on my blue truck i have a 235 75 r 15 but is 10 inches wide .. the scrob in the inner fender well when turning all the way.. they are 30 inches tall as well..

so i think u could go 31 but only on a 7 inch 0r 8 inch wide rim

i also have 235 75 r15 LTX's on tacoma rims and the fit well by cranking the torsions but they are a load on the tranny. will be changing to smaller tires once they wear out

according to the local Nissan dealer and the various local tire shops, the factory ride height on my 97 single cab 4x4 will fit from 30"-32" with no modifications. Seeing as how a 95 and a 97 (as well as every other HB ever made) are identical, 32 should work.

I only have 30s and factory ride height on mine, never had a problem getting stuck, mud pit or open pasture land, These little trucks really don't need the additional height or bigger tires, unless you are building a rock crawler, of course.

I ran 31x10.5x15s with no issues upfront on an 89' v6. My leafs were pretty saggy so they rubbed in the rear at full flex. These trucks are a ton of fun on 31s. I had a V6 with LSD in the rear though

Well...you could save that money you are planning to spend on that lift and added suspension, and just buy some serviceable tires and wheels instead. And after that add a nice stereo and new speakers. And then buy yourself some camping gear, and then...well, you get the idea.

That truck you see below? It's 2WD. No matter what crazy place I pointed the wheel, it always got there. Go for reliability and preparedness first, and kick around the raise idea later. Puts wear on your truck anyway.

I recommend some American Beauty steel wheels and Cooper tires, both in 15" size. Fourteen inch tires were never big enough for these trucks, but raising them has issues associated with it as well. Truck you see below had those wheels and tires and cornered like it was glued to the road and took any Forest Service road I tossed at it.

Seriously, maybe do the basics first, switch to LED lighting, interior, stuff like that before going to raising it. Chain job needed? Engine bay detailing? Full tune up and brakes?

31s on factory wheels no rubbing. 32s will rub with factory lego wheels even with Calmini suspension lift when stuffed.

The bigger your tire diameter, the more gutless it will be and the weaker the brakes will be. Your speedometer will be wrong, also.


31's are my recommendation for a stock truck.
I used to run 33's with the fenders trimmed and the pinch seams hammered flat, but it was all I could do to hold 70 on the interstate with my early 4 banger. Your KA will be slightly stronger, but still weak with bigger tires.
