Default Is there an actual obd connector on '91 D21?

I know about the codes on the computer under the seat.
A friend has the same year truck and his county is trying to say he's supposed to have said connector (state licensed inspector aka "The State").
So, does it? Where?
Thanks
W.

No such beast on a 1991. They didn't have OBDII connectors till late 1995.

OBD I codes and instructions for reading said codes...

Nissan OBD I codes and retrieval instructions.

I don't know if this is common knowledge around here or not but hey, let's put it out there anyway for those who don't know.

Is it a grey rectangular colored connector?

If so, it could be for the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) aka seat belt restraint system. If you have a SRS light illuminated on the dash. You can short Pin #1 & Pin #2 together to get into Diagnostic Mode to see what the failed component is.

I have a ‘97 model. So it might be different on a ‘91 model.

THE ‘91 Nissan Hardbody does not have an OBDII port connector. Now 1995 and earlier model years have OBD1 with the ECM(computer) under the passenger seat using red & green led’s that flash/blink to tell you the code. It’s in the Factory Service Manual(FSM).

My ‘89 Hardbody had OBD1 with the blinking lights on the ECM under the passenger seat.

Seems “the State” is incorrect in their knowledge of the equipped vehicle they’re looking at.

The check connector is present back to 86.5 but non functional on 86.5 due to ECM limitations. It's missing the trigger pin.
