Default wont go past 3-4k rpm top speed is 50

My 1994 4wd has been driving bad for awhile now. at first i thought that it was in limp mode so i cleaned mafs but that only made the problem a bit worse and better at the same time. Now when i drive itíll idle good in park but once i start to drive it takes it up to 4k a d hesitates before shifting and repeat throughout most gears. sometimes itll shift normally but not so much. as i drive it more itll restrict the rpms even more all the way down to 2.5k and it just starts to stutter at that rpm and wont accelerate more. in some cases it will restrict down to 1.5-2k rpms and the top speed is 15-25 mph. i have no idea what is wrong. i need help any help is appreciated

Pull codes. You get to count the blinky lights!

Probably at least as bad as a Jeep so worse than a cow.

Could be lots of things. Start with the easy stuff first that's needed anyway: new air and fuel filters, and a tune up. And an upstream O2 sensor.

Also check for exhaust restrictions (dented pipe), but could also be a bad cat.
