Default 86.5 Alternator Brainstorming...

Several weeks back while trying to get Hector fired off after his engine swap, the alternator light was on and the voltmeter showed no charge. I have swapped alternators and had the old one tested, which showed good.
I checked the fuse links and they seemed to be intact. I've yet to check the actual fuses in the fuse panel.
I've studied the schematic and the troubleshooting flowchart but just can't figure out why it's not charging.
Any ideas?

You can have a good alternator and it still not charge. IIRC, there would be a bad diode in the circuit.

Heck, I had an alt that got mud in it causing the light to come on. Tore it apart and cleaned it out and all was good. Just make sure your 8mm wrench is punch out. I think Mark (Reserector) has a picture of that somewhere. LOL

I want to say regulator on the back of the cluster but I'm not 100% sure.

Is the engine grounded to the body?
You've got a broken connection somewhere. There are only two wires and a case ground IIRC.

At least you know your dash lamp is working. You can rule that out as the problem.
