Hi, and welcome. I had a ‘92 that I added a/c to. It was very simple, all plug and play. Found the brackets and other hardware from a guy parting out a truck and whatever I missed got from the local pick a part. Best money I ever spent living in SoCal where the temps reach over 100 in the summer.

Probably at least as bad as a Jeep so worse than a cow.

Which part of CA?

NorCal is cooler and SoCal is a semi-arid(desert) region with hotter temps like 98cherokee stated.

In my opinion, A/C is a MUST in the western U.S. with heat waves that last for weeks on end in the late Fall season, not to mention the summers hover around 100+ degrees on average. So having A/C is a nice creature comfort for your D21, if you don't have/add anything else. Oh, tinted windows also help a lot!

I installed AC in mine back in 2012. I don't use it often. It draws power from the engine, so I typically just ride with the windows down so I have more throttle response.

Power Steering is only noticed when you are sitting still. Once you are rolling, it isn't really necessary.

Basically, it boils down to, "what do you want?"

The a/c system robs about 5-9hp from the engine and is noticeable. But necessary in desert regions.

Now that is a bid deal! Lol!

Michael2796,

Welcome to the board.

Most of the basis vehicles that you come across will be pre-set or will have had the components and was removed by previous owners. Sometime it just has to be put together again.
