Question ISO AC Belt Tensioner

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1997 D21 4x4 4cyl. I bought the truck with the AC belt and tensioner missing . Finding a belt and pulley has been easy but I am having trouble finding the actual tensioner assembly. If anyone has one that would work I would greatly appreciate the chance to purchase it from ya.

Also, I have seen a few parts out options. What is the compatibility of the AC Belt tensioners across the VG33s to KA24s and KA24's to each other?

-Thanks

I will guess you would need the tensioner specifically for the KA24E four banger engine. Only because the six banger is larger all around. Others will probably step in and make their more informed comments.

ADVICE: Try going to eBay and doing a search there for the parts you need.

I might have one. If I do its yours... depending on where in WA you are. I wouldn't think it'd be worth shipping.

If not from above, has the OP tried OEM/dealer? Might still be available.

I'd also message sellers of similar HB/KA24E parts on eBay, Craigslist, etc. to see if they had it.

Then search online for nearby junkyards that have D21s and Pathfinders.

That's not surprising, if you think about it. Brake pads and belts are consumable items on the vehicle that are designed to be replaced. Brackets and tensioner assemblies like this are not.

If DvdSwan doesn't have one, you may think about looking for someone parting out their truck with the KA24e engine.

Could ask in the Facebook groups, could also call the stealership, they still have access to a lot of older parts. Coulter Parts Center had an online sale going on last time I looked. You can at least click thru the fiche on nissanpartsdeal and find the actual P/N

The Nissan dealers are getting tough for hardbodies. Even their computers seldom list any Nissan parts going back before 2000. Some dealers even less than that. It is total BS. I might try eBay and see if you can get this part in conjunction with another part that already has it on it. Wrecking yard is your best bet, because often people will pull the AC system but don't bother with the whole bracket assy.

Because they have that bracket assy already IN their rig.
