Gl5 is bad. It'll eat your synchros. Gl4 is good.

Also is the truck missing and stumbling? It can me another issue other than transmission

Deerhurst is RIGHT! Never....under any circumstances...use ANYTHING but GL-FOUR gear oil in a manual hardbody transmission.

Your brass synchros will turn black, and then they will turn to mush. Do not listen to smart-ass parts counter guys who tell you that GL-5 is newer and better. You have two ways to go here. You can go the genuine Nissan GL-4 route at any dealer for about 20 bucks a quart. Or you can go to Amazon and do the Redline GL-4. (Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it's Redline. I always go the factory gear oil route)
