125 AMP Nissan quest alternator upgrade - Infamous Nissan

Okay guys, I ordered the 125 AMP quest alt from a 93-97 quest.

maybe this helps more

old and new

1. Drill out the bottom 2 mounting holes to the size of the bolt. My bit didn't have a size so I dunno the size.

2. Change out the pulleys. The serpentine pully can be trashed bc it is no longer needed. Behind the bolt you need a lock washer.

3.the BACK of the FRONT lower mounting bracket needs grinded down 1/4 inch to make the pulleys line up. Make sure to put spacers or washers in the back to keep it stable.

(couldnt get pictures of the washer behind it)

4. Take off the fan, and loosen the altenator adjustment bracket. This will allow you to slide the top of the altenator behind it bc the top post is thicker than stock.

(kinda a weird angle but it fits in there pretty good..)

5.you will also need a longer v belt 2 sizes bigger from the stock wich is a 70 to an 80

Hey i was just curious, why did you need the Alt with more AMPS?

when you put a audio system or compressors are taking to much of the amperage and also if your lights dim while your compressors are in use

this is a very cheap and affordable high output alt. If mine goes out im defiantly going this route.

.......that sounds tempting... even after replacing mine a few times, i still have issues with it not always kicking in on start-up from time to time.

They have a 110 AMP and a 125

later maximas have a 140 amp alternator....wonder if the plug is the same on those?
