Wanting to put an exhaust on my 96 hardbody 4cyl. Wanting to know where all of you that have done exhaust got yours and what brands. Flow masters sounds good. Do they make a full exhaust kit out there? And where can I get stainless headers. I'm wanting to do complete exhaust replacement from headers to the exhaust tips.

I've looked into this a lot and personally I couldn't find a full exhaust kit for our trucks, most kits are just muffler and tailpipe. I was looking for the VG though so i'm not sure about the KA. I have heard not to exceed 2 1/4 inch (IIRC) in exhaust diameter, in order to keep low end torque.
There are headers at a decent price on 4x4parts.com but they are ceramic I believe.

Current: 2.5inch from the down pipe all the way back, deleted cat, and my muffler was a junkyard special, Wicked flow, that dumps above the rear axle
When I redo my exhaust I want headers and 2.5inch pipe all the way, resonator and a magnaflow muffler

Better buy headers in bulk if you wrap. The life expectancy is greatly reduced...

I have pacesetter headers, A resonator in place of the cat, and a magnaflow oval muffler. Sounds really good and very little drone inside the cab. If u do put headers on, DO NOT use the cheap gasket that comes with em. Get some good gaskets from o'reillys. They're about $16 for all 4. The gasket that came with the pacesetters cracked up and blew out.

Wow, thats alot of welding mr tweezy!
im about ready to tear into my exhaust as well. my muffler was blown at the seam, so i cut it off and thats how im running right now (loud). im thinking replace the cat with a cherry bomb and run that out 2.5" wide to a turbo muffler, single outlet, turned down tip. |
