Default Anyone tried a Conti head unit?

Replaced my head unit a while ago with a cheapo Pioneer or something so I could have aux and bluetooth without the cassette adapter. I've come to absolutely hate the interface and the look of the thing and have used some other similar stuff but they all have the same problems, I assume because they all use the same Chinese chips and firmware.

I got to looking at some stuff Continental makes, ostensibly for trucks and busses. I like the more classic look of them but with modern features like bluetooth. Has anyone installed or used one and/or know how to get them? They're a little hard to track down, seem like a bit of a euro thing. Anything else out there with a 90's look and 2020s functionality?

I might upgrade my drivers at some point, but that's the most I'd ever want from my audio system, no plans to install subs or extra amps or anything.

Would love to see what people have put in their trucks with a classic look!

Looks like a Euro thing. Did you see the price of one? $170 at ECS.

Most stufF tends to be made flashy and it's stupid. I have an old Sony with the backlight color adjusted to match the D21 orange. It's an N5000bt I believe. It's not too flashy.

Lol, not sure why I thought it was Pioneer. I have the very similar Sony DSX-A415BT. The Bluetooth protocol is inconsistent at best, the interface is terrible, and I don't like the look. My least favorite feature is how it connects to my phone sometimes while I'm driving and stars blasting something random really loud because the radio and bluetooth volume levels are different. It's hard to operate while driving, and doesn't have auto dim or anything so it's just this super bright blue unless you manually dim it by going through like three menus to make it a slightly less bright blue at night. Nice that the N5000 at least will turn orange.

Honestly I'd happily shell out like $150 if it was actually going to be good...

I've gotten 2 Kenwoods at CarToys. Its been a few years (probably 8-10) but they were about 120 and still work great.

I have no issues with the BT on the N5000, it's got a full color gamut for the backlighting and dims with the lights. Win, win to me! It's outdated by at least a decade now but still does great. It powers a pair of competition SQ level speakers and I'll be building a little box for a 6.5" sub or two soon when I get my new ones in my car.

I will have to ask my car audio buddies what's the best bang for the buck right now that isnt gaudy.
