I made the EGR block off plate for my rig out of an old CPU heatsink. Cut the fans off and ground it smooth so I had a nice thick square aluminum plate. Used the EGR valve as a template and cut it out to fit. It wasn't too bad. We used a band saw to rough cut and used a buddy's milling machine to finish, but you could do the finishing cuts with a belt sander.

So ... we can pick and choose which laws we like and follow?

In a way we do that every day. Some of us speed (illegal), some of us do custom headlights (illegal), some put HIDs and LEDs in their reflector headlights (illegal), etc.

Doesn't make it any more right.

Yeah I mean that's pretty much how I live my life.

Deerhurst is correct.

You might be able to use a sparkplug non-foul adapter. Ive read where you screw them in to the O2 sensor hole and then the 02 sensor in to that. It spaces the sensor out of the exhaust stream and tricks it.

O2 sensor spacers.

My car has some huge ones. Like Stinky said, gets the down stream sensors out of the stream and makes a fairly stagnant air pocket to fool the computer. Only really works when removing cats though. Won't fool a system watching an EGR. Completely separate system.

I'm pretty sure the cats in my car are punched out. I havnt confirmed that yet because it's a huge PITA to do.

The lexus threw a code for the down stream sensors. I changed the upstream ones when i changed the engine. The down stream ones are a pain the ass. The wires run through grommets in the floor, under the flippin front seats. The damn seats have to be unbolted to disconnect the wire.
