Default King Cab bucket seat question.

I'm shopping around for some better bucket seats for my 97 Ext. Cab 4x4 with the factory buckets. Anyone know of something comfy and fit's good? I can easily do whatever it takes to modify the mount's and what not. Just looking for suggestions. Also I'm talking about something I can pull at the junkyard. Not some fancy aftermarket seat.

Welcome to the site. Any seat other than the D21/WD21 seats will need some modification.

You've got 2 ways to go about this... everyone has different tastes so one man's trash is another man's treasure.

1. go to the junkyard and start sitting in good seat to see which style fits you best.

2. go to an upholstery shop and see if they can modify the current D21 seats to be more comfortable.

Pathy seats are definitely an upgrade for a D21.

kicker is all the seats that fit are also going to fit YOU the same unless you go with xterra seats. consider having an upholstery shop cut fresh foam for you. ive seen that done with some really good results. they can also do heaters at the same time.

The D21 has really narrow seats. I tried for a while to find something aftermarket that would fit (I really wanted to make some Mercedes buckets fit from the 2008-2014 era) but they're so skinny I couldn't find much outside of economy-focused vehicles that would fit. The D21's seats are more comfortable than what came in my old Yaris so I just gave up and left the factory ones in there.

Rohde makes adapter brackets you can drill yourself to fit whatever, but as mentioned above Xterra is an easy option
