Hello from Utah! There doesn’t seem to be many forums around for these trucks for whatever reason, but it looks like I found a gem here with yours.

Hope to learn and have fun with y’all as I tear into my little truck. It’s a 92 4x4 with a KA24E that has a bad cylinder. I’ve got a KA out of a 96 2 wheel drive (both 5 speed) sitting in the bed with half the miles.

Fuel injector pigtails ready to wire up, timing cover gasket kit for that swap, timing chain tensioner from Martin Industries in Spokane, and just waiting for a few days available to dig into it. I know the pan needs swapped too. Not sure on the intake yet, if sensors will plug and play or what. Old motor has a header on exhaust side, will probably keep that. Do plan to keep emissions even though I’m in a non-testing county.

It’ll probably be a slow process, I’m not home much these days.

I believe the distributor is different also

Thank you. You’re right, that’s why the cover needs changed as far as I can tell. The way they’re held down differs.
