I ordered the carpet yesterday, I got the Grey Essex material with the mass backing. I'm kind of terrified to cut out the hole for the shifter. Any tips? Any input welcome

Make a 2 piece cardboard template that fits the shifter snugly like the carpet should. Then take the shifter out while you install the carpet so you can get it nice and flat around the shifter hole.

adding to @alabama_lowlife, after you get the placement of your hole, cut an "X" in the material, from center to corners, so you end up with 4 pie pieces. This will help with not cutting away too much material.

Do not destroy the old carpet. You will need to use it as a template for everything…..the seat belt holes, seat bolts, gas pedal stop, the shifter etc.

I had a rather poor experience with the ACC vinyl flooring. It claims to be "custom molded" but it is not anything close to it. The fitment was poor, at best.

well seeing as new oem carpets aren't around anymore, they do "work" granted this was my 1st carpet swap i had to go back later and pad the front part "thicker".
i went to a upholstery store and got some car-carpet padding to reduce the cheapness feel. and yes you def need your old carpet for template purposes. ![]() ![]() ![]()
