Default KA24DE Frontier engine

I was wondering if this motor is a interference motor? Its a 2001 model and the previous owner had someone work on it and changed the entire timing chain setup both guides both chains and 2 tensioners. He told me that it doesn't run only turns over. So im thinking it may have damaged the valves? I know that the timing is off and have to pull everything off reset the everything. Anyone had this problem before? Help me! Please

It’s an interference engine. You could get one of those cheap borescopes that connects to your phone to look in the spark plug hole and inspect the pistons for marks from the valves.

If you know it's out of time, why not correct that first? Pull the cover and make sure everything lines up. It doesn't have to be too far off to not start.

If it uses a distributor similar to the KA24E, a good chance that was put in incorrectly. A PITA to line up correctly due to the oil pump and shaft having been removed too.
