Default What drive shaft is this in my '89 4x4 vg30e?

I'm replacing my center bearing and have the shaft out of the truck, but now I find that there is no companion flange that I can see. I also find a lock nut inside the front half of the U-joint yoke. Am I missing something or is this a different version or has my shaft been replaced with a non-OEM? I am the original owner. There are old indexing marks on the parts as if it had been serviced before. "89, King Cab, 4x4, vg30e. Thank you.
