Or take it to a drive line shop and ask them to make it into a one-piece shaft. I had that done years ago and kicked myself for not doing it sooner. The shop retubed it with a larger diameter, put new top-quality u-joints in it, and charged me a little over $200.

You're wondering if it needs the center bearing for some reason. It doesn't. You will love a one-piece shaft. It's one of the best upgrades to the 4x4 HB ever.

Oh, and the mount for the center support bearing can stay there. The shaft will never hit it.
