Haynes manual is garbage. Take a look at the FSM.

My guess might be the load sensing valve was deleted? and lines left hanging? Not even sure that make sense....

Shipping to Japan from rock auto didn’t look too bad…. Certainly better than $200 shipping for 4 ball joints.

Just to confirm, not only is it pointing at 1, but the piston is at tdc? Like you confirmed by removing the spark plug?

Could always be a faulty part.

You would also have to roll the window up in one crank too. Pieces might break due to the strain.

No other comment other than I’ve sworn of beck arnly. I know they’re just a reseller, but I’ve had a lot of bad luck lately with their crap. %50 of time it’s non functional right out of the box.

I'd start by making sure the distributor is pointing at plug wire #1 at TDC.

I agree with the above. 212000km on a diesel... it could probably got to 400,000km no problem. Heck even if were the gas one i'd say replace as the engine could go another 150,000km.
