'97 2WD Regular Cab
 

Hi all,

After searching for literally YEARS I finally found my dream pickup. Every time a good one went up for sale it would get snapped up in 24 hours, I don't think people realize how valuable these 2WD regular cab models are. Finally got the chance to buy this one - only 47k miles if you can believe it and in pristine shape. I love her like a child.

I plan to make a few minor creature comfort updates but definitely want to preserve as much of the original look as possible. Planned improvements:

• Spray-in bed liner
• Tonneau cover
• Backup camera with double-DIN display
• Immobilizer

If y'all have recommendations for professional bed liner install and/or electronics install in the Puget Sound area please let me know! Looking forward to chatting with you!

2 or 4WD, Auto/manual, 4cyl of V6? Thanks...

The 96&97 models were only 4 cylinders. No v6 option was available. I think it was emissions and obd2 related. The vg30 was dead and the vg33 was next on the list for the soon to be d22 frontier.

They are original to the truck when I bought it brand new in Feb. 1997. I have noticed very small pieces of the decals chipping off. So I had the idea of pulling them off at one point with a heat gun and having them air brushed or painted on with some texture to it.

But only if/when that time comes…

How many miles on your truck? How about your clutch? Compression numbers?

Nice truck. I almost jumped on a flight to the northwest coast for a king cab in near perfect condition. It was sold before the trade in for a new truck could be complete.
