Clutch or trans noise?

New member. 1994 D21.

When I let out my clutch, just as it engages it hear either a short squeal similar to a belt squeal but from under the truck not the front where the belts are or sometimes I hear a noise similar to the noise you get when you donít push the clutch for enough in as you shift gears but the clutch is all the way in and Iím already in gear. Any opinions on what I should be looking at to correct those issue?

Throwout bearing, from my experience.

Throw out bearing for both issues? Thanks, I’ll take a look at that.

Check the hydraulic clutch fluid. May not be moving the finger enuf, if the fluid is low.

The throwout bearing is only under load when the pedal is pressed. It makes me wonder if that transmission is the model that had the wrong fill plug placement. If that is the case, the input/main shaft bearing could be worn and starting to scream.

The trans is coming out. Wait to order parts until then, and the cause(s) are hopefully located.
