Default Vg30e question

Anyone know if the 95 Vg30e in the hardbodys are an interference engine? I read somewhere that this one wasnít and Iíve heard that people have snapped timing belts and bent valves. Doesnít make sense to me that Nissan would build a non interference engine just for one vehicle and make the test interference.

All VGs can be assumed interference unless prooven otherwise.

The VG30 in the trucks is 100% interference.

Iíve found a 84 z31 engine with low miles for cheap. I know for the most part they are interchangeable with the trucks except for the intake. They use a different MAF but could I use my old one with it, also the same with fuel and coolant hoses? Any other changes that would have to be made?

Generally a VG block is a VG block. You'll probably have to use the truck intake, oil pan, pickup tube and manifolds. The cams will be different for higher RPM power. You might have to see if the accessory brackets or bracket mounting locations are the same.

Buddy of mine had a Z car VG30 in his truck. It performed well.

Iíve got an 86 z31 and by the look of it everything seems to be pretty much the same. I think it should bolt up no problem.
