I have a couple of questions out of ignorance. My cousin has been doing suspension stuff for awhile and asked this today. Please forgive him and myself if you find these dumb.
1) what does moving it back half an inch do?
2) why redrill? Why not cut and shorten the hangers, then reweld them?
3) why pull the middle leaf? Why not he overload leaf?(small bottom one)

1) it moves back 1/2 an inch because of the arch of the leaf spring pushing it up moves it backwards.
2) its easier to redrill and put a new bolt in because of the size of the original, plus everything is already in place makes it easier to not mess things up
3) you leave the over load because it still gives support when needed, pulling the middle leaf gives a better ride plus a little lower stance, if you pull just the over load nothing will happen, overload is for mainly heavy loads.

hope that answers your questions

Has anybody ever tried a 3/4 hole saw? Just wondering if it would make a difference from just a drill bit

is this template accurate???? I printed it "to scale" and it is not 2in up and 1/2 back. Where on the hangar do you place the template? do you use the original or resized?? neither of them seem to work out for me
