Default Flip key swap

Did the flip key swap using the remote for a Nissan Rogue, got a local Ace Hardware to cut the blank key and when I got home found out the chip I removed from the valet key and the second master key would not start the truck !

Had an appointment with the dealer this morning and they wanted $120 to program the keys, I said no thanks and went to local locksmith, found out they were closed, they wanted $45 a key or said they would do 2 for $65.

Called the Ace Hardware that cut the key and they said they could program the keys, went there a little while ago and the manager really took care of me, he programmed the second master and valet keys ( that did not work) and the new flip key for $10 each, normally they charge $25 each, so it cost me total,

$18 for 2 flip keys (E-bay, bought the 2 pack as 1 was $13, figured I would have a backup if needed)
$3 to have the key cut at Ace Hardware
$32 to program the 3 keys also at Ace Hardware.

Total was $53, I now have a flip key that contains the lock/unlock, panic buttons with the key, and 3 backup keys with 2 key fob remotes.

Nice!
Not all Ace Hardware locations have the programming tool - or someone trained to use it.

I know, my local Ace messed up the first key blank I brought in to be cut, guy said it moved in the clamp, luckily I bought 2 of the flip key remotes. The guy told me another Ace nearby has a newer machine, the 2nd Ace I went to had a nice machine, all the guy has to do is insert the blank, the machine scans it, aligns it and even tightens the blank down. They cut the 2nd blank no problem, charged me $3.

The 2nd Ace also has the programmer to program the chip keys, manager said they paid about $4200 for it.
