I've got a Canton Pullman 4" component set. It's an obscure German speaker that was made in the 90's. A friend of mine stumbled upon a couple sets of them. Apparently they're pretty good even though I'd never heard of them before. They're in the kick panels. My mid bass are in the doors, they're Image Dynamics CX62. I love them, I think they're fantastic for the money.

You need to spend some time reading the forums at www.diyma.com reading lots of reviews. There are tons of excellent choices out there. But you really need to make sure that what you're getting is more than just a marginal upgrade over stock speakers. The infinity speakers that were in my wife's truck when I bought it are basically that.

Great advice, thanks for the tips. I've been using pioneer for a while and really enjoy them but I'll definitely check those out.

I joined diyma yesterday and have been milling around over there, looking to sound deaden the doors very soon.

Looks like I'm going to abandon the audiophile purist mentality for now and throw some speakers in the back…I had 2 6x9s in the back before and was pleased with the sound.

This time around I've taken out the jumper seats and gonna put a 2-way Pioneer 1602 6.5 and JL 8" W1 in each cavity. One nice thing about this is that I'll still have the entire floor in the back for storing miscellaneous items.

Ordered new carpet for the rear panel to cover up the factory speaker holes as well as installing new floor carpet for the entire truck. Next step is to get some vibration deadening material on the panels.

Gonna run Pioneer 1720 6.5 components in the front with Alpine PDX-V9 5 channel amp pushing 'em all. Don't know if I'm gonna mount the amp on the rear panel or under the passenger seat. Depends on if the amp will fit, it's being shipped now.

Pioneer DEH-9400 head unit.

I'll put pics up with the final box for the jumper seat cavity with the speakers placed. Looking forward to the sound, different setup but should be fun.

Look at my build thread. I have a PDX under each of my seats. Drivers side was easier to fit since there is no ecu under there.

so here's how the final enclosure turned out with the speakers in the jumper seat space. gonna put up some build pictures of the whole project after the carpet is installed.

also went with the tweeters in the door panel, looks cleaner than it would have if they were in the a-pillar and the imaging is still great. overall the system sounds amazing!

Thanks! Unfortunately I do not have the brackets any longer. I originally thought I was going to use them but they were too shallow for the setup I was wanting so I added the 6 1/2 in the jumper seat with the 8s.

I did not make the enclosures myself, a local audio shop made them - there's one box with a divider in it between the 8 and 6 1/2. Not much airspace but works well with the amp I'm running.

Update, I've had this setup for over a year now and I love it!
