Default noob question

at the risk of displaying my ignorance for working on my truck (i'm learning here) could someone give me a quick, step by step tutorial on how to take the door panel off of my 96 xe?

looking to sound dampen the door…ive searched but haven't found a clear answer on how to get off the escutcheon. any other tips would be welcomed.

thank for helping out the new guy, appreciate it!

I usually take the window crank off, then arm rest, the handle trim, and lastly the little thingy on the door lock stem... Not too sure what its called. Then gently pull on the door panel, starting from the bottom, until the clips pop out of the hole, then just shimy it out of there. Thats how i do it, maybe not the best way but works for me.

Rolling the window down before removing the crank is a good idea too. It helps the door panel to slide out of the window track easier.

Don't forget the speaker lol. The first time I pulled my door panel off most of the clips broke. Age being the culprit I suppose. I went to auto zone and got a pack to replace them. It wasn't a big deal just something you might wanna watch out for.
