Default 1995 Speaker Question - Help Me Help My Dad Please

Hello...Noob here looking for some help. I'm an idiot son in Oklahoma (my crappy introduction)

I am pretty clueless when it comes to Nissan PUs, but I'm trying to get a Christmas present for my dad. A few years ago he picked up a super nice completely stock 95' 4x4 Reg Cab PU; he loves it, but the stock radio has seen better days. Over Thanksgiving, I checked it out and thought I had everything I needed to hook him up. But.... when I started to order everything, I started to see a "Behind the Seat" option for rear speakers. My question is... did his truck come stock with rear speakers or is that just an option for people that have added rear speakers???

My plan was to get him a new head unit that he can sync to his phone and some nice door speakers. 99% of the time he's gonna be listening to talk radio or audio books. If it came stock with rear speakers, I want to replace them. My google skills have failed me on this; the only similar trucks I see with stock rear speakers are the extended cabs.

So... the short version. Do 95' reg cab 4x4's come stock with 2 or 4 speakers. Thanks in advance.

No, the regular cab trucks didn’t come with rear speakers. You can fit 6 1/2” speakers with a mounting depth of 2 1/16” without any modifications. As far as installing the radio, all you need is a wiring harness adapter for the 95+.

If you happen to get an inexpensive digital media receiver (no CD player) be advised that the factory mounting brackets don’t fit those very well. I’ve installed some super cheap ones in my last 2 trucks and it took some fighting to get them mounted because the screw holes aren’t in the right place like regular head units. I’m not sure if this is the case with more expensive options.

Thank you. Good to know, about the media players; that's the route I was going with. Crutchfield was listing an option for rear speakers, yet there was only one pair available. Had me second guessing myself. Take care.

There may have been an option in some years where there were rear speakers in a regular cab, but Iíve not seen any myself. As a general rule, itís safe to say they didnít have them. And any that did represent an extremely small percentage.

If you want to install rear speakers in it, check with David29 here. He occasionally has the rear speaker mounting brackets.

The rear speaker mounts are different on the regular cab verses the king cab. I’ve never personally seen factory rear mounted speakers in a regular cab. Only king cabs. I’ve got mounts for a king cab. Which I’ve been told will mount with modifications
