Figured I would throw some pics up of my project. Super slow build, going on 1.5 years or so now - just never any time (having a kid will do that...)
Laying out on a 24-25in tire with room for a bit more. Just looking to build a dependable driver. day 1- $200 hoopty ![]() stock rebuild on the KA - machine work, fresh bearings, rings, gaskets and clutch. ![]() tear down + drop spindles ![]() front mounts, dominator 2500's (mindless metal fab front brackets) ![]() rear setup courtesy of McClarys Metalworks. X-member, bars, bag mounts, and 2x4 notches. (highly recommended) ![]() As of today, its officially laid out ![]() Thats it so far. Need to finish burning in some boxing plates and rear bag mounts, sort air managment, relocate the gas tank and deal with the bed. Planning on trying to raise the bed floor and keep everything underneath. Last edited by estetic; 09-28-2012 at 07:41 PM. Reason: fixed pix... |

Looks great. Yeah, kids will slow a project down but it'll be bitter sweet when you roll out for the first time...

Thanks! Rolled it out of the garage for the first time since Nov '10 to do some much needed cleaning...
the inspector - ![]() hoping to have the rear on air this weekend. Anyone have pics of plating the LCA's? I had to clearance them a bit for the subframe/front x-member mounts and wanted to put some metal back in. Last edited by estetic; 09-28-2012 at 07:42 PM. |

AHH DAD!! I think you need more room to clear these tires.
Or how about this? Dad!! "Do you have that board in place yet? I cant hold it much longer."

Nice build I am gonna keep an eye on this as it might be what I do. I have a question about the c notch will you need to cut the bed to accommodate it? I would like to lower my truck but dont want to cut into the bed.

I had a 4 in. Drop in the rear and I didn't have to cut the bed.
