Got a starter ordered today. Battery in the car died today. So both rigs down. Battery was good this morning, kinda started hard this afternoon and about 20 minutes later when I got home it was dead. Jumped the car and rant it for a few minutes. Voltage was charging at 14v and just over 12vwhen I shut off the car. 10 mins later the battery was totally flat and the car was even having a hard time lighting the dash when I checked it. $118 later I warrantied that battery out and replaced it. I didn't want to play games with trying to find the cheapest battery so I just replaced it with the same interstate that was in there.

I'm waiting patiently to see which battery will die first...will it be cheapo walmart battery in the truck or the autozone battery in the car? Both are about 5 years old.

My last battery in the truck was some brand I didn't recognize. It was probably 20+ years old and finally died after being frozen by the Central Oregon winter with a high of -25F that week.

I've always thought that the 5 year thing is largely a marketing tactic to sell more batteries. There's no point in replacing a battery if it's still working, regardless of how old it is. The factory one in my car went for almost 10 years before it started getting weak.

On my Frontier, on Friday I installed the Rough Country LED light kit that replaces the stock fog lights, very bright compared to stock, they are more of a spot light beam though. They light up the signs on the sides of the road real good.

They are sold as "off road use only" but no one flashed their lights at me on my way into work yesterday.

$99 delivered for the kit (with mounting brackets and harness (didn't use, wired them to the stock flog light wires)).

That is why you always get a battery with removable vent caps. The acid level will change over time from normal use. You can not refill a sealed battery.

The Nissan Hardbody is the best truck that ever did it. Today, I rode it to the mx park! https://imgur.com/a/6FsRKYC
