Question New transmission

So my automatic trans in my 93 SE 4wd pathfinder finally went. It wownt up shift and stays in low gear, what I wanna know if I could swap it out for a newer model from a Nissan Xterra 2002. What challenges does this swap present or more important can this be achieved?

maybe you just have a bad shift solenoid(s), unless you really want a different trans, just thinking from a $$ point of view

Man I really want a new transmission, I wanted a five speed but I want to stay with an automatic. I heard that the Xterras had a better unit can I swap in behind my Vg30?

The Xterra trans will bolt in but as for wiring...? I assume you will be transferring sensors around for sure.

Most likely but you may be able to trick the X trans into thinking it's a Pathy trans by swapping electronics around.

Spoke to a friend that swapped the Xterra trans into his WD21 (Pathfinder), he said no computer change, you use the same sub harness on the VG trans, just need to extend a rubber vent line.

Need to use the Xterra torque converter, and if the Xterra trans is from the supercharged engine you will need to use the Xterra flywheel as well.

the xterra trans is probably 100 percent computer controlled. that is the dilemma. im sure it can be done.
