I also had a bunch of problems replacing the ball joints and a hub seal wouldn't mash on I had to use one from a 1985 model. Do I have a bastard Truck? Or did the PO replace the original frame with an 1985 model, I've called this truck everything but it's name.

Humm, not sure but the rear leaf spring hangers??? Have they been cut or is that a factory looking mount. If its factory the frame has been swapped for something, not sure what though.

It's actually the front bumper mounting points. I'm mounting and checking the gaps between the grill and front bumper and everything is way off! I'm beginning to think my hypothesis is right. I have a 92 4wd body on a 720 frame

I was in a hurry before, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say but think I am all wrong anyway, and/or you just made a comment and thought it was a response for me.

Is yours a 4wd truck? I was under the impression it was a 2wd truck but maybe I missed it...edit (or maybe I just read 2wd in my brain but you never said 2wd what so ever). I was looking at the rear leaf spring mounting and if yours is a 2wd truck a D21 would look like this:

Your rear leaf spring mounts are like this:

But looking at a 4wd D21 it looks like this:

Needless to say yours and the 4wd leaf sping mounts look close to the same even if you have a 720 frame. .

Yes my truck is a 4wd. But I'm having too many issues when it comes to the fit ment of parts. Obviously visibly the truck looks like any hardbody, but I suspect it's sitting on a Nissan 720 4wd frame. I'm unaware of the rear leaf spring setup portraying just to the 4wd frames, but this isn't my main concern. My biggest problem is fitting two different front bumpers that SHOULD otherwise fit a hardbody frame no problem.

check out the motor mounts and engine, surely there should be some sign of a d21 on a 720 frame like relocated motor mount brackets or an older style engine

Ka24e but has the ecu under the stereo unlike my OTHER 92 2wd which is under the passenger seat. I'm not trying to confuse you guys I don't know what's going on . I have tried to bolt up my 93 wd21 4wd front bumper to it but the back bottom hole doesn't line up(1st picture above)

I still say pop the hood and check for hackery, check the body/bed mounts. No way that stuff just swaps over without some mount relocation.

I'd think it more likely someone modified the brackets at some point rather than someone changed out the entire frame.
