Default Output shaft play tx10

I have a 1995 4x4 v6 and I am trying to diagnose a driveline vibration I have had for a while but as of lately is way worse. While checking u-joints for the 100th time I found that i can push and pull up and down on the rear output shaft for the transfer case and I can make it move just enough to make a clunk noise. probably 3 months ago I found that the transfer case had run dry and I can't even begin to tell anyone how long it had been like that I hadn't checked it when I purchased it which was February of 2015. the main question is is this normal, or do I need to change the output bearing or is there a bushing like other trucks?

Probably not normal. Ive never pushed and prodded mine but I dont think a whole lot of play is normal.

Sounds like its pretty badly worn. It's a bushing. I recall replacing mine under the truck. I think I kinked it and pulled it out. That was a long time ago.

I Greased the splines on the slip yolk and the play is gone but my vibration at 40mph+ is still there. Think it may be my old leaf springs they are almost negative at ride height with my camper shell. saving up to get ARB OME springs from rugged rocks
