Here is the sticky from the Hardbody section. Look at the bottom of the first post, and you will find this tidbit:

Expose the ECU, set the brake, shift into neutral' and turn the key to "ON" without starting it. You should see the LEDs flashing in sequence. If not, flip the switch the other way.

Now, fully press and release the gas pedal one time.
Press the clutch and shift into first. Release the clutch.
Press the clutch and shift back into neutral. Release the clutch.

The only code you should see is 44. Four long blinks followed by four short blinks.

...
[This technique] clears two codes that will otherwise persist. 24 Neutral switch, and (if memory serves) 42 TPS.

Here is a link to the codes.

Hopefully that will get you fixed up. The ECU with the switch was only used in '86 and '87 that I am aware of. (In the USA)

No, it is not an OBD1 connector, it is a "Nissan check connector" for a Nissan scan tool.

On the ecu's with the switch, you turn the key to "ON", than flip the switch, after you get the 3 red/green flashes, flip the switch and you should be able to read the codes (in mode 3), repeat for what ever other mode you want to go into.

Reading over several "Code" threads and not really finding an answer, so I'll continue on this one I reckon.
1995 4x4 SE Auto, 255k

Had a CEL when I got it. Runs okay, but a little under powered. No exhaust smoke of any kind. I've been going thru fixing this, fixing that (waiting on parts at times), so decided to pull codes today.

21 Ignition coil – no primary signal -- Wiring, ignition coil/module, ignition system, ECM
51 Injector- circuit malfunction -- Wiring, injector, ECM

I clear them, but keep coming back immediately.

I'm looking over the diagrams now to see where to start. Like I said though. It does crank fine and run, but does seem to be misfiring at times. I am fortunate enough to have another 4x4 v6 as a parts truck (frame is one pothole away from splitting in two) but the power-train is smooth as silk. No codes, runs like a champ & 5spd too. Eventually it'll all be swapped over to dump the AT. So, I plaid swap-tronics today with some parts in the starting/ignition system (ignition coil/module, distr cap, rotor arm, plugs, wires) Did not do the ignition switch since they are different. Not sure why, but the AT truck does not have the little push button to enable the key to be removed and has more electrical connections on it. All my previous HB's ('89, '93, current parts '95) all have the less electronic switch, so I couldn't swap those. Figure I'd throw it out there to rack the seasoned HB brains whilst I continue to look over diagrams and see where to start.

Finally got time to search in the FSM's. I like that it has troubleshooting trees for each diagnostics code. I'll be on these this weekend.

i can tell you that a code 43 for an 87 SE V6 2wd truck is NOT the TPS. a code 43 for that model is the fuel injectors/FI circuit.
