Old Grey Beast says in part:

That's great. Also sounds like something for 'You Know You Drive a Hardbody When...' thread.

Playing with timing again. I think.I got a little detonation with the hot weather. Going to slowly roll the timing back till its gone with the hot weather and go from there. Its odd because its not under load, its under no load and under deceleration. I'm pretty sure it came with the timing ramp ups.

Washed my truck yesterday for the 2nd time since I've owned it. Was a dirty girl. Some rust is peeking around here and there, so I've got a few spots to sand and POR over.

Steering gear box leaked out all the fluid right as I got home. Went to the junkyard and I thought I had the right replacement. But of course, I grabbed the wrong one. The Pittman arm shaft is slightly wider in diameter. 🤬

they often do this... unusual manners for a part that fails.

It doesn't make sense for Nissan to make the same part with the same bolt pattern but bigger splines.

Take the steering pump up to the auto parts store and go through pittman arms until you get one that fits. There's no need in going back out to the yard, because you might get something else that doesn't fit and Pittman arms go out from time to time.

Bring your Pittman arm with you to make sure there aren't other changes on the other end, though.

Always grab the pitman arm with the steering box when at the yard. Rule of thumb for me. Its easier to pop the center link out anyway.
