I have installed the intermittent wiper arm of the same style, but did not grab the amplifier, im hoping my 96 is prewired fot the amp.
From what I have heard they do but in Canada that might not be the case. Canada trucks have a few things that the USA model did or didn't get (for instance I believe you can have a rear defroster on a solid back glass, USA didn't offer this). My 1990 was not pre-wired but also not an OBDII vehicle. If you have the plug for the amp it should be pre-wired from what I understand.

got the relay and pig tail as per the instructions, went back to my truck and noticed that the harness near the wiper motor was pre wired for the relay, plugged it in and BAM!! she works... intermittent.
this confirms 96 canadian spec was pre wired, my hb is an absolute base model.

I guess different models came with different harnesses, my 93 does not have the jumper under the hood near the wiper motor, so swapping in the variable wiper switch will have to be done like the OP did.

Weird that my 90 sentra which was the absolute base model ( didn't even have a pass. mirror), had the wiper amplifier jumper under the hood, that when removed the wiper amplifier gets plugged into, but my 93 HB doesn't even have the jumper.

I wonder if my 1994 can do that. I have all the parts, just haven't had time to do the work.

Did you take a few pics?

look at your wiper motor where the harness plugs in the front, does it look like the following pic? if it does, that is where the box goes, in place of the big connector with the jumper wire.

were intermittent wipers available on earlier higher end models such as the xe? I grabbed mine off of a 96 v6 model.

Wish my 93 had the connector with the jumper it makes it so much easier !

That's the same as what my 90 Sentra had.

Earlier models with variable speed wipers did not have the adjustable feature like the later models but they did have a single speed delay setting in addition to the standard low and high settings.

If I have the pigtail from the wiper switch from the new wiper switch can I just cut and solder my old harness and run the new wires where they need to go instead of re pinning ?

don't see why not. when I do it on mine I'm not re-pinning, every time I try to get those pins out I break something !

So, a year later, I get around to doing this.

I discovered my interval wiper switch did not come with a pig-tail on it, so I don't have any wires with pins to wire in with the existing wiring.

That's as far as I can go then.

Does anyone have a pig-tail for the interval wiper switch?
