Default Fuel pressure issue

Hey yall, I'm still screwing with my 95 ka24e. I ended up getting a different job with a company truck, so it hasn't been as pressing to get my hardbody back on the road. Anyway, here's where I'm at...

I replaced the fuel pump and still have the same low fuel / high combustion temp issues. To be honest, this new pump seems noisier than my original. I still have the same fuel pressures, around 25 idle and 35 with the FPR unplugged. I've seen threads about connection issues at the pump, but everything looks good back there. Timing is right, filter is new, engine was rebuilt less than 3k miles ago.

I wouldn't think a fuel pressure regulator would fail lean... Would it? Any other ideas? Maybe the replacement pump was bad out of the box? It's an AC Delco pump, fwiw.

One last shot in the dark... would air leaks at the tank keep it from reaching the right pressure? My inline gauge shows the pressure bleed off to zero in about 5 seconds after the key is turned off.

I’d think that is a regulator myself.

Thanks Bama. I'll get one soon then. May as well get the adjustable one, unless it's completely pointless without other mods...

I’d just get a standard replacement.
