Three things here. One mechanic isn't changing it like he says. Two he doesn't know what he's doing, or three there is a burr or something on the crank.

He said the crank looks good and doesn’t feel like there are any grooves or anything wrong with that. The aluminum piece isn’t cracked and the gasket is good for it. He thinks the crank is bad and has slack in it. But the motor has only 80,000 and has been had oil changed regularly. So I’m try this Nissan seal and maybe it’ll work better then the fel-pro.

go to oreillys and get a UV dye kit. ask for the oil dye. pour it in the engine and drive it a day or two before you start looking for the leak. i have used that kit to trace a coolant leak on my truck and lexus, found an internally ruptured power steering hose on my mother in laws camry, and found a valve cover leak on the lexus.

it costs around 20 bucks for the UV pen, glasses and a bottle of dye.

I don’t think it’s anything but the rear main, because when he took it out the second time to replace it and do the job over, he said it was the rear main leaking again. So I think it’s the rear main seal but this will be the last time before I try something else like the UV dye
