i recently bought a 96 engine for my truck not aware that the distributer mount was differnt so now i have to wire my 1992 wirring harness up to the 1996 distributer can anyone help with this?

'96 and '97 only came with 4 cyl. Go sit in the corner.

You may have to change the ECU as well.
One thing I know about the '96 is that it had a position sensor in the top center of the bell housing. You '92 likely doesn't have that. At least not yet. May be something you can add. Probably need the bell housing, the sensor, the flywheel the engine harness and the ECU from the '96 truck to make it all work.

The engines are the 2.4 4 cylinder not using the 96 trans using the 92 trans.

You will need to swap the timing chain cover from your 92 onto the 96 engine. Problem solved.
