Default 720 4wd wheels on D21

A friend of mine's '86 720 4wd trunk has given up it's head gasket and am planning on buying it from him for parts for my D21 '90 4wd. Really all I need are the wheels (mostly because they have very good tires on them and new tires for my beater '90 would effectively total it!) & I thought the Weber carb would be useful for another project. That said, before I let go of the rest of the truck on the local craigslist for parts, I was curious whether there are any 720 parts that are useful to have as spares on a D21. Sorry, I'm not familiar with what interchanges (though I love my hearty 720 window cranks in my D21!)

thanks in advance.

The wheels are the same bolt pattern. Backspacing may be different and they came with 215/75/15 tires originally. My 720 does not have original wheels, but the hardbody wheels work on it.

Like the window cranks, most of what interchanges will be odd this and that stuff. I just learned that the flip down dome lights are the same!

Depending on where you are in TN, I might be interested in talking parts with you!

Thanks. My D21 has some huge mud tires on it and the 720 has tall, narrower tires. Hmmm. I see you are close by (I am in Knoxville) so definitely hit me up with a PM or email if you wanted to talk about the 720/parts more.

Right on! I will be working in north Georgia starting in May and will be closer then (maybe). I am putting a head gasket on mine right now. It might be worth it to you to do the same! It is about $100 in seals plus whatever it costs you to get machine work done. Not a bad job.

The 720 has way less power then the hardbody, but the hardbody is not anywhere near as fun to drive. I love driving my 720. What a blast!
