I have never seen a (stock) interior SO nice as the picture shown below. Some of that stuff I didn't even know you could get on that truck.

All of this proves one thing. As more time goes by between 1997 (last year for the D21 in the USA) and today...it is becoming more worth it to restore these trucks to their former glory. The one below has only 30,000 original miles on it, if you can believe THAT. They do show a pic of the odometer. It's enough to make you drool onto your keyboard, I swear. The only things missing are floor mats with the name NISSAN on them, and some high quality seat covers, which I would have added. On the downside, I couldn't tell for sure if it has air conditioning. If it doesn't, then I think 20,000 is a bit steep. Why would someone order it fully loaded and NOT do the AC option. Maybe someone else can tell. Underhood picture is a shallow angle, I can't tell for sure, but I don't see the compressor or anything.

My 89 SE interior looks like that
Not much to say about the engine bay in mine tho

No AC. Can see the evaporator block off under the wiper motor.

Anyone who pays 20k for that is a dunder head from the old school and should rather just throw money out the window on the freeway.

That's what I was wondering about. Thanks. And when someone said a person would be a dunderhead to pay twenty grand for that truck...was RIGHT. It's nice. But not THAT nice.

Here in the Seattle area, a local dealership had a completely restored 1997 4wd SE Kingcab at $14,000 that was a lot nicer than THAT truck. It sold pretty quick. Original miles about 40,000. I saw the pictures and it was in showroom condition inside and out. 20,000 is ridiculous for the 86. You could take an old 86 with a reasonably solid body and frame and BUILD yourself a better truck for twenty grand. And that 86 not only doesn't have AC, it isn't even a kingcab. Forgettaboutit.

One thing I have noticed over the last 18 months or so, and that's the price of these trucks when they are in really good shape are starting to go UP. I paid $2,500 for the Teal Terror, but that was a 'special deal' and I only got it because I beat three other people who were racing (literally) to the old guy's house. (The seller was a retired dealership owner who cruised the auctions at tow companies.) I just happened to be closer than they were. The Craigslist ad appeared at 11AM in the morning, and I was driving it home at 2PM. That's how fast the whole thing went down. Just LUCKY is all, no skill no comparison shopping. Just simple luck for which I will always be grateful. I found out later it belonged to ANOTHER old guy who made one big mistake. He got caught driving DWI and the truck was towed. The tow company ran up the bill on him and he lost it before he could pay the bill. But it was in such nice condition I could hardly believe he was the DWI type.

The other thing too, I wouldn't trust those miles unless it was verified somewhere else. Its insanely easy to set the miles to whatever you want on these instrument clusters.

You mean the 97 restored at the dealership. Nah...they had that sucker verified big time. And it was a lot better than that one back there for twenty grand. It was gone from their website a day later. I should have taken screenshots.

One good thing about the Great Northwest is we are still jazzed with D21's. It's a competition between them and the old Toyota trucks. Nissan is winning.

Nice steering wheel. Nissan...interchangeable parts. You gotta love it sometimes. My dream is to find the entire map lighting setup from a Pathy and stick that into the Teal Terror. I asked the wife if I could pull HERS when she sells it and gets the 2003-04 Xterra she really wants...but she wasn't going for it. No stripping of parts prior to sale allowed.
