Yeah, I'd say the switch is going out.

Find you one on eBay now before yours goes out for good.

I was looking at the wiring schematic for the starter, should be able to trigger the relay eliminating the ignition switch, at least when it cranks slow to see if it will crank normal.

But the switches aren't expensive, just hate to replace parts and not be sure, gets expensive that way.

Default Weird morning

So heading to work on 59N (Houston) and about 3 miles into my commute the ABS light comes on... weird cause its a stick and the brakes responding well ... for my third week in my 97 P/U ... so i made it to work stopping like normal in mornign traffic

Then I remembered in my previous vehicle (Izu Rodeo) had ABS issues -- so i tried the same thing

Got to the garage at work and parked. Left key off and pumped brake 5 good times and help the last til the pedal stopped. Turn key to "ON" and no ABS light. Got off work at 5pm and drove home -- all the way -- NO ABS light

Maybe this helps someone. Thinking after I hope to meet up for a parts swap - his parts my money -- LOL prolly gonna look at rear brakes. IDK... weird. Maybe after 225k miles on clock and a new owner.... just maybe th ebrakes are in need of attention in rear - not unheard of of people disregarding DRUM brakes *** Out of sight out of mind***

My last rodeo had the OEM brake shoes and pads and had 187k on the clock - WOW lucky i made it -- til they SCREECHED to a halt I had no real clue

HOPE THIS MAY HELP SOMEONE

Drove 1500 miles to Oklahoma, 75-80 the whole way, changed out the oil and filter and you would never know it. Dam it was hot with no a/c though.

Well fine, I began chopping up a roll bar to make it fit the truck, will be fabricating some sort of system so the bar is solid to the chassis like a roll cage, yet able to unbolt if I need to remove the bed.
