No welder or welding experience. Doubt my apt complex will be cool with it as well, no friends with cool tools either. I did entertain the idea of having a shop make one for me, but I figured the cost would be around the same.

I see y'all have V6s, so this is mainly for L4 guys' benefit:

Long ago I had bought a used, big, bolt-on push/grille/headlight guard for my 4x4 HB, but after installing and driving the truck for a while I noticed a significant drop in acceleration and MPG. It was just too heavy for the L4 engine, for use on the road. If my truck were still for off-road or exclusively for farm/ranch use, I would have kept it, but ended up uninstalling and selling the guard for about my cost.

Interesting. Was your old grill guard more substantial than the one I have? No change I'm MPGs with mine. My truck doesn't change much in MPGs with or without a load.

I think he has a 4 banger. A bit more gutless, once you add "sprung weight".

Really?? I may actually take you up on that dude. I have been wanting to learn to weld just need a good patient mentor who doesn't mind training a complete green as grass novice. I see you're across the water from me as well, I think it's doable.

I'm a bit of a drive, about 3 hours south of Portland but I'm always down to help folks. I may be a bit of a dick online sometimes but I like to help folks, especially those with similar interests.
