Tackled the front diff this afternoon. Unbolting everything was easy. And that is where it stopped. Removing that has got to be one of the worst things i have ever done to a nissan. It just sucked. Putting it back should be loads of fun.
Nothing but rain until i go back to work. It is supposed to be really nice next weekend. If the weather cooperates, the old engine will be out next saturday. |

Went ahead and ordered a new throwout bearing, slave cylinder, clutch hydraulic line since it is getting a new flywheel and clutch kit when the engines are swapped. I need to do the damper delete and be done with the bleeding once and for all.

Thanks for the porn. Highs around 8 degrees here this week. Envious. I’ve had a lot of rest. Ready to drop my tranny. Been driving mine a lot because of snow every 3rd day.

The engine is in for the most part. I got it in Sunday night. I went out today and finally got it to set on the dowels. I have 4 bell housing bolts left to tighten. Now the small list of things needed for the 30 to 33 swap are next. Gotta get the slanted d22 oil filter bracket, 2 accessory brackets need modified, need to replace the driver exhaust manifold and get the motor mounts tightened down. Then the timing belt gets done blah blah.
My goal is to have it running by March 1st. And this engine swap has been an excellent reminder that i am almost 50. Doing it all by myself has saved money, but dayum was i sore last night. |
