Sheep Power steering box fitting question.

Can anyone confirm the thread size/pitch for the power steering box pressure line. The fitting coming off the box itself.

1996 2wd.

By caliper, I measure 13.1mm from the outside edges/threads of the fitting.

13mm to me is american 5/16th, but I highly doubt that fitting is american.

I just dont want to take it apart and hope somebody has an adapter fitting in stock.

I have an Sr20 in the truck, and someone used a 4wd line, and it is super duper long and ugly. I purchased the sr20 to 240sx swap line (much shorter, like 15'' shorter!), but one end of the adapter fitting is made to plumb into the 240sx power steering rack @14mm.

So I just need to find the correct fitting to go from the box(metric) to NPT.

Thanks for any help.

I know, I know, just take it apart... heres to hoping for an easy answer!

I don't know how much help this would be but some auto parts stores keep an assortment of flare nut fittings in stock for brake lines and such. You could buy a few different ones that look like they might be the right size and see if any of them thread in. It's probably a pipe thread pitch and not a regular old metric one. Alternatively, if you have a flaring tool you might be able to cut the existing line and re-use the fitting on the new one. Again, don't know how much this will help, if at all.

Thanks. I do have the hydro flair tool but Id rather use this nice shiny line

From everything Ive found/read, its 14mm

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...sn=379&jsn=379

I just dont understand how the line going in can have an outside diameter of 13.1

If it is 14, then I have the correct fitting, but it measures 13.9 on its outer threads.

I guess Im just gonna have to pull it apart, but not before I stop at the pick n pull and pick up a power steering cooler. As long as Im draining the system...
